Fresh AiR of Mokrin House is an invite-only Artist in Residence program in which creatives from different fields of work use Mokrin House as their playground. Starting August 2016, each month will have its own Fresh AiR who will find a fun and unique way to give back to the community.
Our first resident was Maja Zorić, the talented painter behind Dear Diary Notebook brand – “Dear Diary is a journal in which we write our thoughts, it’s a sketchbook for all our drawings, it’s a notebook for all our journeys, something intimate, colourful, joyful and inspired by nature.”
This is what she had to say about her residence –
“Staying in Mokrin House was highly inspiring. As soon as I arrived I had a little tour of the estate. I took one of the available bicycles and rode it around Mokrin. I have traversed the streets and greeted the locals. I have ridden the bicycle through fields of corn and sunflowers, through fields with the clearest skies and limitless freedom. The estate alone made my inspiration go wild. The land filled with flowers, trees and other floral life was crucial in my decision to make some new patterns for my journals. Contemporary architecture incorporated in a perfect natural environment. House made of leaves! That’s how I saw it.
I had my own favourite spot – a place by the pool. It was my peace oasis, my place for being creative. Like anywhere I go, the best memories are the ones with people. In Mokrin House, as well, the memories wouldn’t be so dear if all those coworkers weren’t there, as well as all the wonderful staff members who were a part of our life during those days spent. We were all a part of one big family in Mokrin house. Of course, the food was divine!”
